Types of books

We have classified the books into four categories. Click on the topics you want to look at. 

• Marketing books - advertising, defining your niche, promotion, small business marketing, and books specifically for appraisal marketing
• Business topics - Independent contractors, fee splits, collections, etc.  plus bookkeeping/accounting, and hiring/firing. 
• General business management (including managing yourself!) books - LLCs, corporations, retirement plans, small business management
• Miscellaneous business topics - topics we can't figure out where to put such as depositions and alternate careers/jobs for appraisers

About the books selected

Most business books don't work well for appraisal firms as they are either for large businesses or for companies selling products. Appraisal firms are small and sell appraisal services. 

These are books we have found useful for appraisers. We have  used most of them when writing articles in our newsletter, Appraisal Today, and in Our Information products - books, audiotapes, and appraisal seminars. (Note: the Nolo Press books have not been reviewed, but we trust Nolo!)
