CLAUDIA L. GAGLIONE
In 1982, Claudia received her Juris Doctorate from the University of
Southern California Law Center. She joined a law firm in West Los Angeles,
which specialized in the defense of professional malpractice matters.
For several years, Claudia was a litigation attorney handling matters
involving the defense of attorneys, realtors and real estate appraisers.
She conducted all forms of discovery, handled mediations and settlement
conferences and took several cases to trial. In 1994, Claudia and her
partner, Bob Dolan, formed the lawfirm of Gaglione & Dolan, which
specializes in the defense of non-medical professional malpractice claims.
Since 1987, Claudia has acted as National Claims Counsel for the
nationwide Real Estate Appraiser Professional Liability Program which has
earned the endorsement of the Appraisal Institute. In that role, she
reviews and monitors all claims filed against insured appraisers. In
addition she has authored several articles and regularly presents seminars
to assist appraisers with loss prevention.
In the past 16 years, Claudia has personally supervised well over 2500
claims and lawsuits filed against real estate appraisers all across the
country. By virtue of this experience, she is uniquely qualified to speak
about what kinds of things appraisers are getting sued for and what
defenses are most successful. More importantly, Claudia can discuss the
types of errors that are avoidable and how appraisers can make themselves
the best possible defendant in the event they are ever sued.
