My comment: Looks like there are some appraisers who don’t work for AMCs. I had expected higher percentages that worked mostly for AMCs. Now that business is strong, some appraisers don’t work for AMCs, or take less work from them. When business is slow, they do more work for AMCs.
I have had a problem with AMC’s since day one and never took assignments from them. Even when my business partner and I had 11 appraisers, working for us, we did not take any assignments from them. With our combined experience of over 50 years, we felt we knew what it took to produce credible reports long before “credible” became the watch word. Quote bidding and unreasonable time frames are a precursor of trouble. Hence, no AMC’s I am still in the business at age 70 (working on year 51) and pick and choose what assignments I take. I am busy due to no centering on just the lending market.
